Line Rider Game
Featured in Time magazine, build a course with your pencil, and watch the little guy on the sled ride it out. Or maybe not. Life can be short for a little guy on a sled....

Updated Snake Game
Back in the day, we used to play a game called snake, where you had to eat the bits of food, which made you grow longer, only you couldn't touch yourself or the wall. Single color snake. Four drections. Keyboard only. No mouse. No music.
And we were thankful.
And we were thankful.
The Dots Game
You know, the one we play in restaurants and stuff where you've got to make boxes and keep your opponent from making boxes? This is a computer single-player version of that.
Punch through the ice
For some reason, it's called the "Nex" game. You're this guy running along and there are these big walls of ice in your way. Click at the right time and you punch through. Don't click and, well, you don't.
The Very Long Pi Song
In case you every have to memorize the first, say, hundred or so digits of pi, maybe you can sing this catchy song!
Flying Around in Google Maps
You can fly the little airplane around New York, or Disneyland, or Paris, or ...
Use the arrow keys for up and down, left and right. A to go faster. Z to go slower. Space bar to fire bullets, though I can't figure out why...

Nonlinear Cornstarch
The third man listed on this video's title (Harry L. Swinney), graduated from Rhodes College (my alma mater). I get to hear him speak once.
The cornstarch and water mixture sits on a vibrating table that shakes it really hard and really fast. The results (through the "magic" of nonlinear physics), look truly bizarre. Watch the whole thing through...

What's it like to be color blind?
A color-blind website designer blogs about what it means to be color blind. It's from a design perspective, but it's still pretty cool.

Online Art Lessons
Huge collection of online art lessons.
I might try one myself.... I think I'll draw a face.... a happy face... and a mustache... and big eyes... OK, let's see how it turned out:

(*@#$!!! They hung it up sideways!)
[Note: I just saw that they need a registration to take many of the lessons. The registration is free, but they still want information from you.]

NFL Rule Changes for 2006
The last one there, about inadvertant whistles, is my favorite new rule. It should have been in place years ago.

Disaster Map
If you're ever think that you're feeling too good about the world, this rapidly updating map of earthquakes, radiation leaks, volcanos, bird flu, and more should put you back into an appropriate level of "AAAAAAAH!!!!!"
(Or, you could just feel good when none of that stuff is too close to YOU...)
